“King of my castle” by Wamdue Project (1997)
One of the things you notice about the 90's European electronic music scene might be that many successful songs were in fact the remakes. I am not talking about the covers of the famous tunes, the 90's technofied a lot of them, a multitude of songs became hits thanks to some sonic tinkering. I mean, did the listeners know the tune in the link was basically a remix? Yes, the reason the composition ended up high in the charts lies in the fact Roy Malone took Wamdue Project's original and streamlined this into a piece we're all familiar with. No shock then that Mr. Malone also did the follow-up to that single despite his work being in a different sphere than Wamdue's. Therefore, the sound interventions by Mr. Malone caused a distorted view of the project.
