Meet Kim Hutchings, VP Programming & Services in Waterloo.

This week we are introducing you to your Vice Presidents of Programming & Services. Carina and Kim are busy planning #LAURIEROWEEK16 so they may not be at their desks for a chat. Here’s a little insight into Kim’s world. 

Kim Hutchings is your Vice President of Programming & Services in Waterloo. Her love of pop culture, especially music, comes in handy when planning events for Wilf’s and The Turret. 

What do you do? “I oversee the programming and services committees on the Waterloo campus, including O-Week, Wilf’s and The Turret programming.” 

Did you know that Kim was on a reality show that never aired (and will never be found), wants to learn to cook more than a grilled cheese sandwich and has a strong Pinterest game with her love of “crafty things.” 

What are your priorities for the Students’ Union? “I want to reach a broader range of students with our programming and service efforts, ensuring there's something for everyone and everyone feels welcome.”

Making Changes: Laurier Students for Literacy

We’re happy to announce some exciting changes to the Laurier Students for Literacy group on the Brantford campus.

While you may know it as a part of our Programming & Services department (along with other groups like Foot Patrol, Food Bank, and Hawk Team), we are shifting it over to our Clubs & Associations department.

This will give the club so much more opportunity to grow and better cater to the Brantford community as a whole AND open up more volunteer opportunities for students.

The great programming that we do now with the Brantford Public Library and local school communities will continue, and we are so excited to see it grow from here.

We’re Hiring Our Next Student Executive. Are You Our Phoenix?

These people want you to take their jobs. It’s that time of year when we start looking for our new student executive. While we hate to see them go, a beautiful phoenix can rise from their ashes. That’s you. You’re the phoenix.

Applications are due Friday, February 5 at noon.

You can learn more about the positions by attending one of the info sessions hosted by our wonderful, smart, talented, classic Student Executive team. Sessions are Tuesday, January 19 at 7pm, and Wednesday, January 20 at 10pm in the Students’ Union Boardroom on either campus.
