I DID IT! 25,020 words in 30 days! It’s only the first half of the first draft, but pretty much everything I wrote this month I’m happy with. I think 25k was a good goal. And now that I’ve finished it’s time for a little rest.

shoutout to me who thought about fitting a mafia subplot into my novel and then immediately was like “this is NOT gonna work”
it’s funny how gilia’s original inspiration was 2001: a space o.dyssey and the music of the k.illers and now it’s 80s music/movies/culture and 1940s movies wow
HEY EVERYONE! Happy July and Happy Camp Nano
This year I'm finally working on finishing Ter.atophilia (the story Tilde and Algot are from). Over the last year or so I've gotten ideas on how to expand the story from a short into a novel in 3 parts. So I didn't get much writing done yesterday because Al and I got another cat and we're working on acclimating her to our apartment and to Juno. I also had to go to a party a bit a ways away. However, I did add the first part of the story I've already written (the one most of you are familiar with) to the word count and that's helped it skyrocket to 7,032 words. I'll still be writing today though and I'd also like to write on here. I'm just waiting for Al to make me a muses page because I hate doing that so much.
Okay gang! There is technically 3 days left of camp nanowrimo BUT i really wanna get this thing done. So I’ve decided to attempt to knock this out today and tomorrow. Fingers crossed here we go!
(That being said, I think the nanowrimo/write a certain amount every day to reach an overall monthly goal is a good practice to write something when you have nothing done in a story. However, toward the end when you run out of ideas it can get draining to just try to make the word count when you have nothing to say. I do think maybe the best course of action in the future is to attempt a general word count everyday whether it be for one project or another [or spreading the words between projects]. Having a daily writing routine is working out for me in general.)
hello, i don’t want to write AT ALL lol
im looking at my own book and thinking:
gilia = wide eyed, small town boy who’s in over his head in a 1940s movie clementine = ruthless dame with a secret heart of gold in a 1940s movie
which now leads me to thinking that i should include the trope of
ruthless dame with a secret heart of gold is trying to scam and/or is in cahoots with someone who is trying to scam wide eyed small town boy who’s in over his head, but she ends up in love with him and regrets it all
