[Video embedded is for the song "Candybrain" by Phideaux, from their "Doomsday Afternoon" album. Which is excellent.]
I've actually figured out a number of the chords for this one on guitar (YAY my tiny acoustic does seem to be motivating me to play more than I have in years!), though not quite all of them.
I'll attempt to explain what I've got so far, in case anyone else is interested, but I must warn you that I am working from a rather holey, self-study-based knowlege base and therefore lack specific knowledge of a lot of music-theory vocabulary and notation. As in, I know the names and hand formations for most basic major and minor chords, but very little about any of those chords that are named like complicated Starbucks orders (e.g., "I'll have a B-flat seventh diminished minor sustained half-caf with no foam", etc.). And I know nothing at all about the best way to notate rhythm. And if you actually listen to the song you will notice there are some bits I've not totally accounted for.
(And if any other guitar-inclined folks more clueful than me are reading this, feel free to lend your wisdoms because this is one song it would be really fun to play properly all the way through (the guitar part at least, the song uses other instruments but I am ignoring those for now).)
But anyway. It's a start.
This song uses a capo on the first fret. Chords referred to below are thus named relative to the capo position, i.e., as if the capo is being considered the beginning of the fretboard. Some players give "absolute" chord names in this situation but I don't know how to do that and would personally find it less useful anyway).
INTRO: Em ("regular") followed by Em-barre (Em-shape on 6th fret with barre across the 3rd fret) in a repeating pattern for about 1 minute 4 seconds.
This is followed by the following pattern just before the lyrics begin:
A, D, G, C, ??, ?? [not sure about the last two there]
Then, when the verse begins you have:
The sisters of illusion sell delusion at the show
It is said they've wed for wisdom, if it kissed them they wouldn't even know
Still the marchers walk beside them,
"If it's written we believe
[possibly C, Am but I am not sure], Em
It will come, you'll see"
(instrumental progression that uses some of the same as the verse and intro chords but possibly some other ones and I am not sure how to write it out yet)
The converts come together, They're gathered to begin
And they swear their oaths forever, Slip chips down into the skin
So the keepers are inside them
Provide them what they need
To transmit and to receive
When they're in, they don't leave
(instrumental bit here again, similar chord pattern to before the lyrics start)
The convent is waiting it's time to go in
Gather the faithful let vespers begin
...and then the very end, where it starts to transition into the next song, I haven't really gotten to at all yet. I'll see if I can get a decent guitar recording later and try and upload that, as it actually sounds better than this writeup would probably give the impression of.
