im curious about how carrion works, you said that nothing is stored so like previous chatlogs get stored in a local file in the desktop computer that its running them or do those just get deleted after a session ends?

they get stored in indexedDB in your browser (some browsers have more space for this than others, firefox and chrome are good, safari will randomly eat your shit). if i make it into an electron app or something then you would be able to write them locally. so it stays as long as your indexedDB persists. i do not know if it persists across computer restarts but i think it does.

I'm bringing back my text-based fan-adventure, CARR*ON, which I started here for Blaugust 2024.

I'm planning to put it on my NeoCities website, with an experimental "living draft system" of updates- where I can change past entries and add in-between entries as needed.

First, though, I need to get the website updated. I'm re-learning my basic HTML skills (it's been a while since I messed with NeoCities).

The navigational links to individual entries,

hovering over entry titles to see version updates,

and ve-e-ery vaguely able to be re-sized and still read.

I still got to add the tool tip text to all the entries so far, and I want to do some additional stylization to the entry titles / page breaks (bigger arrow and more space, probably….)

But not bad for a little bit of fussing before work shift.

I also included the Abnormal Sessions of SBurb I used in fanwork!

There sure are a lot of ways this myth/game could potentially fail….

Every time I'm writing Homestuck fanwork that involves SBurb, I have to have my moments of "Oh bother, how does the SBurb game even work, again??"

One of the hardest parts of translated SBurb for CARR*ON's "SMagi" (a medieval fantasy setting) is needing the characters to be near each other to interact!!

I don't want them to just message each other the whole time!

The four human characters in CARRiON are fankids from before Homestuck Proper even ended... they were part of a collaboration I made with somebody whose name I can't remember. (Is it you? Are you still out there? I apologize for my memory- I remember we had a good time, though.)

The general idea was they represent the four missing aspects / classes from the canon humans, and are set in a pseudo-medieval / ren-fest time period. Joel was originally named Jude, and Jazz was named June... but these names got used up in the franchise.

CARRiON's current plot didn't come until years after- completely different from the original plot, which I can't actually remember much of.
