Wild Skies, the VR game we are currently developing for the Holodeck platform, is a co-operative Virtual Reality Video Game. Two players must work together to pilot a massive airship through a exotic world of floating islands.
Players will interact with the world using the combination of simple gestures and button presses.
The ship acts as a virtual playspace with many different interfaces to interact with. These include interfaces like cannons, bombs and a top-mounted telescope.
Each player also has personal weapons including guns and swords. These are equipped and dequipped using gesture/button combinations.
I can't believe how few comments are on these articles and one of the developer's blogs, and I want everyone to know about this crazy awesome project that's about to be launched.
Also from their page on the technology they'll be using:
"A few months before E3 and the creation of Oculus, Palmer and James Iliff and myself were attending the IEEE Virtual Reality conference in Orange County, CA.
"It was here that the idea for Holodeck was born: a VR video game, inexpensive headmounts, body tracking, wind-based haptic feedback, binaural audio, smell systems, etc. Palmer also had one more great idea that day: have the game take place on an airship. Enter Wild Skies."
