Anyway, veeery late start but only post-wise! Hectic life and whatnot, but we’re here. So, my project for this summer remains Sasin and my goal is basically to either finish it or get as close to finishing it as possible. Reach ACT 3 the least.

I’ve been rewriting the beginning, because there was a major plot problem that I needed to corret, but I’m slowly catching back up to the chapters that only needs light editing before I could continue onward!

So far, it still seems that my prime time for writing is going at it right after waking up. My mind is able to focus then, compared to the cluttered state that needs a looong decluttering after work. So I’m aiming to do just that, and write at that time with more or less success. It’s best managable when I’m at home office, which is hopefully three times a week so whoop.

Okay but in numbers. So far I’ve managed to write 13,329 words since the start of June. It's pretty good, given that I usually scrape 10k words at all when I do monthly wc counting. (especially as i'm a part of rough draft month challenge too and have a soft goal of 30k to end the month with lol, we'll see). Anyway, I really like the direction I'm going, and this new version is much much stronger, so happy so far.

Will try to keep myself to post weekly until the end of summer, though! Wishing anyone who's participating much luck, happy writing y'all! <3

Kil x Mad Cubs

I love yapping about Kil so this is great. He’s a very social person so there were people who naturally just rotated towards him throughout his life. And that’s how the Mad Cub came to be, tbh.

There’s five of them, namely Nayun, Eun, Sheojun, Veota and Kil. The girls, Nayun and Eun came probably the earliest, or maybe just Nayun, cuz she’s younger than Kil with a year or two and kinda had a crush on him. Perhaps even dated him for like a month or something when they were teens. So she naturally pulled to him, as did Veota who was his best buddy since he came up from the countryside and joined the Blessed in their late teens.

Eun and Sheojun are older than Kil and the others (Veota is the same age as Kil), and they were kind of seniors but not really for them when Kil, Veota and Nayun started their more active training. I imagine that Kil probably tried to seduce Eun, and they had good rapport but never came thru cuz she wasn’t and isn’t really interested in him more than being friends. She did definitely accept brawl offers tho, as did Sheojun. From day one, Kil was provoking his seniors to fight him, which Eun found fun, and Sheojun found as impressive as irritating when they caved and fought him, then lost.

They wouldn’t be able to tell how, why or when Kil beceme their unspoken, yet clearly chosen leader. No one really minds or questions it tho, except Sheojun. But he only does it as an educational matter too. cuz Kil doesnt like to think of himself as their leader, and needs a bit of regulation to stop complaining about his role. mostly cuz he also cannot do with anyone else being the boss that he finds less capable than him. and boy he thinks even his friends that. he has lots of respect and love for them, but still. they’re not him.

so i realised that Sasin is basically about the child in you learning to either forgive or just move on, even if never forgetting. moulding that never forgetting into something that doesn’t hold them back anymore.

Hello! Happy 1st day of spring cleaning!!

So you said that you need to write (at least some of) your chapters to account for something new that you have come up with. What kind of thing is that, is it lore related, world-building related, character related? Is it some kind of event, either historical or within the course of the story? What sort of things is it having an effect on? How did you think of it?

Feel free to answer this privately, in parts, or vaguely if you don't want to give things away, I'm just curious to know a little bit more about what's changing the story and how!

alright, this is an ancient ones from 2025 spoty wrapped game lmao. and i wanted to write a Liahn fights Inseo in the Chokehold, and started it too, but then changed the whole story LMAO. so can’t get myself to finish it. still, if you’re interested, it’s under the cut with not-anymore-accurate Liahn and Inseo.

The Chokehold rumbled under the members’s feet. Uneven stomping shook the stone ground, the fighting pit’s empty, enclosed area reminding Liahn to a feeding hole of beasts too dangerous to approach.

She looked through the many faces fifteen feet above her; the waiting mob ready to see what few could witness. Excitement, impatience, smug expectation. Worry, even. She studied all the expressions, her tightened chest resonating with the crowd’s nausating energy.

Then, a little slit parted between the people-wave, like subjects clearing out of the approaching ruler’s way. Liahn‘s body locked in as Inseo appeared by the iron railing, pure white traditional warrior clothing hugging her body like she was born with it. She looked down at Liahn with a gaze steeled into a sharpened blade.

This is your chance to step back, it said.

Liahn ground her teeth, not moving an inch. The rope she used to come down retracted behind her, and Inseo inclined her head in acknowledgement.

She jumped through the railing, cracking the earth in her landing. A translucent ghost image of an enormous white bear trailed her movement while she straightened, unharmed. It was a heartbeat, yet it was there, clear as day — a display of the burst of Blessing she required to use to blunt such a drop.

Goosebumps broke out on Liahn’s skin, sweat drenching her grey tunic.

If we did a crossover, and your characters (Sasin and Lonel) landed in my world, which magic can you imagine your OCs having?

Some options!! Soul/Star Magic(Oracean), Fire(Pyria), Air/Dragon (would likely have dragon friend), Water(low-key might have a siren form), Earth(see;avatar), Electric (storms/lightening).

ooh, love that. would go for what the sensation of their own magic kinda feels like, cuz there are some similarities (like the West’s power feels a bit like heat, and haven’t yet elaborated on that but the North’s a bit like cold etc). so.

Sasin

Liahn: soul/star. idk it sounds like it’d fit her, given that she’s very sensitive to othera already.

Luwen: air. tho this was a tough choice tbh, cuz he’s a bit hard to grasp, but maybe that’s why it leans towards air for me haha. plus he’d def need a dragon friend omg.

Fang: earth, actually. i think that would fit more with her personality, even though she’s fierce so fire could be too. but earth just makes me think of her haha.

Kil: fire, that’s a no brainer haha.

Fehn: soul/star i think. she’s pretty people focused too!

Inseo: electric! for sure, woman’s a brewing storm anyway lmao.

Bongju: air ooor water. tho he’d need the dragon friend too, but siren Bongju also makes me go a little bit insane ngl.

Lonel: fire or electric! can’t play with him much haha

Odena: water, i think. that would fit her.

Selys: soul/star, though he’s a tough one. maybe air.

What is one (or two) locations in your wip (if you have multiple, the one you're working on currently or one you wanna answer most for), that you think has a cool location you think could be a great spot for one character to show another, whether a platonic, romantic or familial. Or even just a spot with a lot of value to these characters (preferably a cool landscape or even cool looking building or something!). Describe it/ them to me! And bonus, describe the importance the location has to the characters!

hi lovely! that’s so cute. and hard lol.

but my first thought was the Tawon Nationa Park that i came up with for a smut for Fang and Bongju once, LOL. it’s described there a bit, tho i can’t really copy and paste it cuz it’s vowen into the whole set up and it’s long. but the point is that it’s a park where historians found ancient stuff that indicated that the place itself could be the battlefield where Queen Daseul and the four generals overcame the rest of the armies and brought the nation together after their victory.

it’s a secured park with trees that has vibrant red foliage, and are creating an archway at one corner. there are modern art and statue corners, but it also has spots where rusted armor pieces, helmets, horse riding equipment etc are peeking out of the ground, preserved by time and left in the very places the historians discovered them. so probably their original place.

there are replicas of armories, the Queen’s tent and the very first pagoda where the peace had been secured in writing, and which is the blueprint of all the pagoda designs from then on. spiky yet curving roof, red railings and poles, all the Guardians are tangled together in a statue opposite the entrance, and the Queen’s representative dragon coiling around the roof in great detail. built in holders for incense sticks in every Guardian’s statue, and a stone table in the middle that is loq enough to be used as a podium if one wants to. at the clan’s territory, there’s always one pagoda that has the table switched off to a fire holder, and which is an important aspect for a holiday.

anyway, the park itself is very meaningful to everyone, but that pagoda is esp. they say if someone confesses their love their or if you resolve a quarrel there with your loved ones then you and them will be forever destined to stay together. it is a place where wishes are believed to come true.

for Fang and Bongju it’s a place where they uh well :DDDD became a couple i guess?? it was a smut, but its KINDA about that they finally settle and acknowledge that settling. for Yune and Liahn it would be a place where Liahn would want to confess or propose to Yune, and same to most of the other young people (including Kil) probably. it’s a famous spot for that.
