Project Wooster
Held twice a year in New York and Las Vegas, 'Project' has claimed to be the worlds front running trade show for fashion. This video is a little old but shows a first off experimental tailored exhibit with the direct involvement of Nick Wooster to create 'Project Wooster".
The exhibit displays Nick Wooster's vision of a shifting modern style with developing ideals towards quality of fabric, design and cut. The use of historically formal/classical pieces mixed with everyday essentials with a modern take has created a cool interesting direction for menswear.
The association to quality and cut is great, but something else that is very strong within current menswear is the story or technique behind the garment or collection. How it was made? What process was used to make it? Where were the materials sourced from? What is the bases for the design? For me, these all play into the brand attraction for menswear items and provide the interesting detail that sets the great brands appart from the rest.
