Basic sketch

I actually changed the cat's pose because that was gonna get too hard TwT

I've never introduced her actually... Her name is Indygo!

Also, I found out this new trick of using transparent paper as another layer on the drawing, like in digital, though usually I do this for a character's hair

Added the new pose and continued the sketch with the dragon, Starcatcher

Did the lineart with a darker pencil, so even with watercolors I can still see the outlines

Started coloring Indy! I was originally gonna do Star's white fur with a blue shading, but I realized that it would contrast way more if I used warmer tones

So I did that! Started with yellow, as i prefer going from brightest to darkest for rendering; at least with pencils/watercolors

Then I added orange-yellow and orange, completing the white fur!

I continued with coloring the orange-yellow fur, and starting the black-blue parts, as well as adding some magenta in Star's eyes. Also added some yellow light on Indy

Then I watered the colors and made them smooth and nice :3

I added the yellow highlighter, which my scanner can't pick up on. sad :( And also rendered it as well. This is why most of the times i have to touch up my scans digitally to make them look more like the actual drawing

Then I colored in the background, and added more yellow light on Indy's pelt

I finally made the lineart with a fancy metal pen and black ink!

Even if the drawing is nice, I think that there was something very moody about the previous photo, without the lineart... maybe if i did it with a black pencil instead of pen, it would've been more moody

In the end I added Starcatcher's whiskers! And yes, this is how the original scan looked like. Very red!
