Le Spark
A second (and the only fully animated) entry into this year's Highbridge Film Festival is Le Spark, a project by Nathaniel Winckler and Winck Studios. Winckler has chronicled the project's process on his blog, keeping much of the work under wraps and referring to it only as #ProjectEdna until the film was announced to premiere at the film festival last weekend.
Le Spark earned awards for Best Sound Editing (Phillip Jackson), Best Original Music Score (Austin Scott) and Best Special Visual Effects, and it also tied with a film called Broken (Bryce Ury) for Best Super Short.
This is Winckler's fourth animated short to win awards at film festivals. Other work includes computer-animated Twirl and Charged, and Winckler teamed up with Animation Force's own Chris to create the hand-drawn Lola and Her Dog.
