To Soar, To Unite, To Ignite.
At a very young age, my parents instilled the value of education to both my brother and I. They said, “We might not be able to leave you much, but with an education, you’ll be able to make all your dreams come true. And that is the greatest gift we can give.” My personal experiences and encounters with students crossing rivers, shoeless, and making their way before the sun even rises, all for education, sets my values deeper. To see other students unable to attend school shifted my perspective even more. I was fortunate enough to have access to a good education. Society values it, yet pitches it as a privilege. Education is a “gift.” But it shouldn’t be seen as a “gift.” Education is a basic right. Global Tassels wants to help others exercise their right to education through the programs of Project AIR, Project KIN, and Project LIT.
Education, especially a college education, is vital to the growth of an individual. Yet the opportunity to receive a higher education is not accessible to everyone. Global Tassels wants to give that opportunity to students eager in achieving this goal. The value of education stretches further than a degree. It’s value is found in the knowledge, experience, and action fueled by that education. We call our selected individuals “Student Leaders” because we believe that they have the ability to share what they’ve learned and lead their communities to a brighter future. Their community engagement in supporting local initiatives to end poverty reflect the leadership skills valued in our students. Project AIR is a program in which Student Leaders are able to go back to their communities to empower and inspire others in achieving their dreams. We want to instill the importance of education and values of community service to everyone around us, most importantly to our Student Leaders because change is possible via this combination. Global Tassels wants to see our Student Leaders as well as their communities be able to spread their wings and soar to new heights.
The children truly are the future. And to ensure a bright future: access to basic education is key. Project KIN is a program that empowers communities through education as well as providing assistance in the children’s urgent needs. Global Tassels wants to ensure that the community organizations in our selected countries are being supported and their present efforts are valued. This is not just a collaboration between organizations, but essentially, a family affair. Global Tassels works in a professional manner with a personal touch. We care and believe a good relationship builds a solid foundation. Working together creates a bigger impact and gives stronger support to the children. Project KIN incorporates Global Tassels’ core value of community engagement directly, as we serve as a role model to our GT Student Leaders and provide a possible host to their project.
We want our GT Student Leaders to unlock their full potential. Through the training provided by Project LIT, students will be able to face the demands of their academic and social programs. Global Tassels is aware that these students will be exploring foreign territory and we want their transition to be as smooth as possible. This will be a new journey for them and it should be one of excitement not intimidation. Enhancing their skills will give them an extra boost of confidence. The support system we have in place will serve as a comfortable and stable foundation for our Student Leaders. Project LIT intertwines with Project AIR and Project KIN, as it is the spark that ignites the flame of true success. They will not only have the opportunity to leap into higher education but also flourish using the newfound skills they acquire. When all ground is covered and our Student Leaders are fully ready to walk their path, they will do so in confidence. They will believe in themselves just as much as we believe in them.

Project AIR, Project KIN, AND Project LIT are the main focuses of Global Tassels. Each program is unique and specifically catered to a group we are all passionate about. Education is a key tool in eradicating poverty. Allowing access to education opens opportunity to disadvantaged communities. Knowledge is power and the more information one has, the better. Education gives them a chance to move forward, it gives them a chance to flourish. Everyone has a right to education and should not suffer the harsh effects of poverty. Global Tassels’ Project AIR, Project KIN, and Project LIT, engages the disadvantaged back into the global conversation. These programs keep us organized and enables us to work efficiently to secure prosperity for all. Global Tassels is able to reach a greater masses through these programs, giving even more opportunity to those in need. Our ultimate goal to end poverty is possible with these projects because not only are we personally overseeing the action, but incorporating individuals willing to help the cause.
