We're about to say something so in-character for a shadow but bare with us here. So... Hold on a hot funky fucking minute — why does everyone blame me and act like I “pushed Sonic away”? Why do they act like I’m supposed to automatically like him just because we sometimes seem to aim for the same thing? I’m meant to be on “the good team” or whatever people call the morally right side. But just because people like Sonic, I’m supposed to too?

Isn’t it strange how fans think Shadow should like Sonic just because he’s the “good guy” and they believe they understand him? Have they ever not liked someone or got along with someone who wasn't a "bad person"?

So sorry, no thanks. He’s annoying, mysterious, and almost like a Fae or something. Sonic — the guy who is antagonistic to me and can be surprisingly wise, even if he’s also so densely stupid at times — is a self-centered prick; he keeps his distance emotionally; and he often gets in the way of what I want to do. And yet, he sees me as a “friend”? And I’m supposed to like him? shut up dude. I'm going to kick your ass.

Thought I'd take the time to divulge a little more about my past life for canonmates, if for whatever reason they're here.

I'm Shadow, Shadow the Hedgehog. Generally, I was perceived as aloof, but I was polite and well mannered. (in that I treated strangers with respect and used 'mam', 'sir' etc.).

Some would say I had a short temper, when really I had little tolerance for stupidity and disrespect. Meaning, if I felt you were disrespecting me or endangering the world, I would put you in your place. In regards to how I was behaviourally, all else I can say is that I was emotionally and socially blunted. Most of my mobian behaviours were corrected out of me in childhood, so bonding with others was a lot harder. I could be hard to read and, like most mobians in my world who relied on non-verbal cues, had a blunt or "insincere" tone.

I won't go into the details about what happened in my life or what my relationships with everyone was like as that's private for now. I don't have many happy memories. I will at least tell you that after Sonic 06, I went down a more isolated path. 'Team dark' wasn't to be, and I spent much time alone, in the background.

All the events of the games happened in my timeline, although the games are merely a representation imo.

Really, I'm looking for anyone who remembers putting Shadow back into Stasis, as well as anyone who is non-canon and brought him back into the world some hundred years later.

I have an OLD Canon overview carrd if anyone is desperate to know more. But I am currently at a stage where I need to validify what is and is not the truth.
