“ Maybe we’ve got more in common than I thought. ”
“Hm, it would seem so, now that I think about it.”
Really, the did share common interests. Even with the different interests the other was very inclined to listen. He didn’t know how Yoshie was able to put up with him ramble on about a book or some strange philosphy. Actually, if he thought about it, he was talking quite a bit more these days, wasn’t he?
@promisemade liked for a starter
“You’re not here to yell at me for disobeying Tatsumi again, are you?”
The First Night
He hadn’t meant to get lost so soon.
The moonlight wasn’t helping his navigation. A human’s night vision turned on about 15 minutes, but it was in a sense no good. After all, though he hid and played in the forest as a child, it didn’t do him much good when it was the middle of the night and unsure of where he was. There was no landmarks that he would usually use where he was. Did he end up on the more eastern side of this village? Well, that wouldn’t be such a bad thing. Maybe if he kept going east, he would find that fated Hell Hole and drop right off the face of the earth.
As he kept walking, a few lights of the village finally came into view. Right, if he got closer to them, he’d be able to figure out where he was in relation to the village. He had to be careful not to get caught though, otherwise it was all over for him and he highly doubted that he was going to sneak out so easily next time.
He crept close and found a few homes that seemed familiar. Right, he was on the east side now. He just had to cross the river and make his way over to that crevasse in the earth. He made sure to keep himself in the shadows as he walked along the hillside.
A noise. He didn’t really know what it was, but it had startled him nonetheless. He jerked up straight, but as he turned to the source deep within those wood, he lost his balance. He let out a small cry as he found himself tumbling down the hill and right into someone’s backyard, landing face first into the dirt.
“Owww....”
Ok, that had hurt, but it could be worse. Someone could find him. Or... could it be better if someone did? Someone that was going to turn this miserable life into something beautiful.

There must’ve been something in the air that night sitting in their hiding place. He wasn’t normally so affectionate with people, but with her, it was hard for him not to be. She deserved every bit of affection that was denied daily, and he was more than happy to give it to her. She seemed like something was bothering her again. She would talk about it eventually, he knew that, but for now she just wanted his presence.
She was leaning against his shoulder and his hand had rested upon her head. His fingers careful trailed through her hair, delicately, carefully, making sure not to pull it. He pulled himself closer, placing a hand on her lower back and another on her knee before gently pressing his forehead against hers. He could see her smile at the gesture, and it seemed to make her feel a little better. Still, he felt like he wasn’t doing enough. His one hand moved from her knee as he pulled back. Poking her nose always made her smile, and it did, but it still wasn’t enough.
The thought that came next made him blush and tense a bit, however at the same time it filled him with something else. As he thought about what to do next, he was finally beginning to understand why he was so affectionate. He was beginning to understand these feelings that he had been nurturing.
He leaned forward and his lips gently brushed right beneath her eye.
“I don’t want you to ever have to be sad again. I don’t ever want to make you sad. I... I promise that I’ll always be by your side and... I’ll do anything to make you happy.”
Blushing, feeling his heart racing, seeing the awe in her eyes, the smile, her blush, the tears that were starting to come through, all of it gave him the courage to lean forward again, and this time gently kiss her lips.
I love you.

“What makes you say that?”
Considering her words helped him out of his slump, he didn’t understand it at all. He was still a bit feverish, but he was feeling much better than yesterday. His pencil had stopped once she had said something. Did something happened where she worked?
“Is there something the matter?”
