        the van’s shoddy lighting truly needed some work as nero muttered idly to himself, perhaps a few new lightbulbs needed installing ; carefully toying with devil breaker’s circuitry. he likely should have left as much to nico, but she was preoccupied and he did technically need to learn should she ever be unable to come to his aid. the young devil hunter was very pointedly trying to ignore the elephant of awkwardness that lingered in the air: v was back and sitting on the other side of the small table reading. good lord did nero have questions and zero knowledge of where to even begin with any of them... and so, he tinkered in silence, hoping what he deemed as awkward atmosphere would not be read easily by current company. there were admittedly a moment or two where he had open his mouth as if to speak to the other, but quickly ushered his thoughts back into a corner of his mind.

        his leg had long ago become restless, tapping an idle beat against the floor of the van with his boot. stop that, his mind pressured internally ; annoyed with himself. he didn’t want to disturb v, nor did he want to draw attention to the quiet strangeness in his own composure. his body language screamed a desire for conversation, while his thoughts raced with how to approach any variety of conversation. he was confessedly happy for v’s return, even given what it could mean and all the new knowledge he had... he liked v --- the man was certainly interesting and had never really treated nero as a hindrance. it was, well... nice. to say the very least.

        there was a screwdriver was tucked between his teeth and he was hunched slightly as a few small sparks burst forth from one of devil breaker’s fingers ; the expletive spoken is hissed and hushed,   ❛ --- shit...! ❜   if he broke it, nico would break him. after a moment, he casts an apologetic glance to v, in case he unsettled the other.
