Promotional Website - Coding Park
Upon opening Coding Park the user sees a very colourful animated fairground scene with the words ‘Computer science made easy, no matter the programing language!’ and a ‘Play Now’ button inviting the user to explore the website. The main colours used are different shades of blue and orange together with splashes of green and red. They also display their mission which states ‘Help kids, parents and educators develop computational thinking skills with fun video games.’ The site goes on to talk about how coding has become important within the education community and the challenges teachers face when trying to teach code. They also show why a user should choose Coding Park set out in a simple, easy to read format with colourful icons and images. Coding Park offers ‘A realistic coding experience combined with visual composition, totally independent from programming languages.’
This is a very different site, from most coding websites, as the user does not learn how to code using HTML, CSS or any other coding language. All courses are completed online and the user has a number of packages to choose from. Also, within their web page they show the latest articles from their blog, although are not posted on a regular basis, for example, none in 2019, but do cover such subjects such as why kids should learn coding, a new game release etc. They also cover the course in three different languages, English, Spanish and French.
I like the clean, easy to read, colourful and clear layout of their webpage and hope to incorporate some of these ideas within my own web page design.
