OOC EVENT ANNOUNCEMENTS [ ALO:RECLASS INFORMATION ]
Hello Lovelies! This is a quick information dump about exciting things to come. As the event progresses we want to ensure events are catered to all characters, therefore we created the following categories:
*Please note that these are loose descriptions only. There is no sign up system for now, we merely want you to think about where your character might stand. Remember that the opinions and biases of a character do not necessarily reflect the writer. We encourage you all to use these events to develop your characters unique personality further! Think about: What are their opinions on the Ministry? Magical creatures? The Daily Prophet? Witches/Wizards, Muggles and half-bloods? Do they have any prejudices (if so, what and why)? In the event a war, who would they side with?
Rebellion Supporters: Characters categorised as magical creatures (Beast/Being) that are strongly against the reclassification and are prejudice against Humans due to the mistreatment they have suffered. A Human may support the rebellion but they will not be allowed to officially join their cause.
Neutral: Characters with a neutral opinion. They support neither extremes. However, their opinion may sway more in favour towards one cause over the other. (In this category we expect that smaller, more distinct groups may begin to form)
Ministry Supporters: Characters categorised as Human that strongly agree with the reclassification and are prejudiced against magical creatures. Characters who are afraid to go against the Ministry (this could be for a number of reasons, for example: They or their parents work for the Ministry and don’t want to lose their job, the threat of imprisonment scares them into submission, etc). This category may also include magical creatures who are against their own kind.
In the future, smaller distinct groups with more specific agendas may also form. However, they will still fall into one of the three categories mentioned above.
If you think your character will fall into category number 3 (Ministry Supporters) please contact admin mimi asap, as we are looking for characters who can help thrust these events into motion.
Here are a few examples of why a character might choose to support the Ministry: They had a bad experience with magical creatures in the past (family death, bullying, etc), fear mongering in the Daily Prophet has made them paranoid, they have strong family ties to the Ministry (their parents are senior workers, their parents can’t afford to lose their jobs etc), etc.
We recommend using our new ooc blog for event discussion and plotting for members who do not have access to AIM. Furthermore, if you’re struggling to decide your characters’ stance, consider using a thought blog to develop their opinions further!
If you have any questions or feedback regarding this event please submit your queries to this blog and not the HQ.
You guys don't have to post this because it's just a comment. Don't get defensive either. I think the main issue with this event is that it doesn't let the other half of the members partake in it. A good event should include everyone. I know there's not much to be done since it's a huge deal that creatures are being reclassified and all, but really all the other half can do is submit opinions to the Daily Prophet.
It seems that there may be some confusion between members about what characters in the roleplay can do and how they can include event-related things in their interactions. -- Hopefully this response will clear some things up for our members.
Characters that are not registered Beasts, as stated in the post, can discuss the P.E.T (along with any other event mentioned in the Daily Prophet) in paras (for example, how would they answer? Do they think the test will actually prove anything, etc). We’re sure that each character will have a personal opinion on the events unfolding (unique to them) that will eventually sway them to support one side, the other, or even remain neutral. Everything in the Daily Prophet is aimed to help give our members extra content to write about in their paras by providing them with key events going on in the wizarding world.
The mandatory additional classes we’ve added to the Hogwarts curriculum -- Human Etiquette and Defence Against Magical Creatures -- are for both magical creatures and normal witches and wizards. Assignments for both classes are going to be released soon, as again, we had stated in a previous post. The protests are also free for any characters against the discrimination of magical creatures to join. Characters who agree with the Ministry could even start their own protests against ‘undesirables’ complaining about fair treatment. Maybe they think magical creatures are dangerous and should be monitored. We also clarified in the most recent Daily Prophet post (under the read more) that non-registered magical creatures and normal witches and wizards will soon be at risk of being wrongly targeted by the Ministry. If you tag your posts correctly, then the Daily Prophet will most likely reference or even write about your characters’ actions (within the space of the event). Not sure if your idea is against our rules? Send a message to the admins and we will gladly work something out with you so that you can get more involved.
This is merely the beginning stages of what we have planned, please be patient with us. More interactive events (for everyone, rest assured) will be coming when the plot thickens. However, the plot itself is member driven. We highly encourage your characters to explore these issues and develop opinions. Let your characters thrive on their sense of morality. Their good decisions and their bad decisions, their virtues and vices. The more members that get involved, the quicker the plot will progress.
Of course, we do appreciate your feedback, but we also want to stress that these events are not only for magical creatures. These events are targeted at all members, and we had thought that this was made clear in the event posts themselves. The ministry’s shady shenanigans should be the talk of the students! It’s all up to you and how involved you wish your characters to be when it comes to the material that we post for you.
Once again, we would like to remind members that any comments/questions about our events should be sent to this blog, and not the normal hq.
Any other opinions on our events are welcomed!
