For his completely legal free speech, an activist in Florida was targeted, prosecuted, and fined a ridiculous amount of money in a clear violation of his rights.

While not directly police-related, it is still certainly police state related. — In a land where the Constitution is essentially dead and buried, what used to be called freedom of expression can now cost you two grand.
