Almost exactly two years ago I hiked a mountain and did yoga on the summit. Today I did the same. When these memories pop up on Facebook and I see how skinny I used to be sometimes it's hard. Sometimes I see how sick I was back then and I'm grateful that I'm in recovery. Other times I get jealous of my old body and wish I could be thin again. Whatever feelings come up when I see these old images of myself, they always cause me to reflect on my recovery and in the end, I'm always grateful. Today I don't hate my body every day. Some days I struggle, but they're few and far between. Today I don't believe there's a perfect number on a scale. I don't even have a scale. Today I don't punish my body to avoid feeling my feelings. Today I (mostly) love myself. And today this larger body still does all the things it used to do.
