Proverbs 7:2 (ESV) - keep my commandments and live; keep my teaching as the apple of your eye;
Proverbs 7:2-3
2 Keep my commands and live, And my law as the apple of your eye.
3 Bind them on your fingers; Write them on the tablet of your heart.
Keep my commands and live; protect my teachings as the pupil of your eye.
Proverbs 7:2 HCSB The pupil changes in size to let light into the eye. We instinctively protect the pupil because our eyes are sensitive and it's critical to sight. In the same way the word of God regulates life. We need to learn to instinctively to turn to God's word because the Holy Spirit is sensitive to it and it is critical to experiencing the full life Jesus Christ died to give us.

Like the daily supplements we takes to build up our immune system, the Bible tells us to do the same with God’s Word. Proverbs 7:1 instructs us to “… keep my words and store up my commands within you.”
