A TESTIMONY FROM SENEGAL by Erin Freeman (3/10/17)
Learning about the Talibe boys was heartbreaking to me. After realizing that I would be providing care to these boys, all I could think about was my own 10-year-old son. While walking into the compound to set up a wound care station, I initially felt angst. While interacting with the boys throughout the day, something transpired within me. Angst was replaced by a sense of peace, honor, and love. Providing wound care for the Talibe boys has been the greatest privilege of my nursing career thus far.
