I just rawdogged an entire 3 hour long SWANS concert and holy, I HAVE to talk about it
There where no visuals or anything on stage except for red strobelites and some synth modules and cables, but the band really didn't need anything cause they absolutely owned it.
Michael Gira conducting the band into a mauling post-rock machine with EXTREMELY LOUD bass, drums and literally screaming guitars and synths. He looked like what I'd imagine Woland from the Master and Margaritha honestly
It felt like some droning fleshy doomsday engine that wailed in pain, topped of with Giras chanting lyrics, spasmic dancing and eery red lights.
I think he hexxed us all in the audience or something because you couldn't take your eyes off them, they had us in a chokehold (and now I have this ambient piano ringing tinnitus in the background yippay)
Only critique is that Gira didn't wear his cowboy hat 💔
Looking through my dads vinyl collection (to steal...) I found this really cool pink version of Haus Der Lüge which I've never seen before
Curious I researched it and it turns out to be an unofficial audience recording from a live performance in Bremen 12/10 1989, later used as a bootleg vinyl for DJ:ing purposes - thought it was interesting :)
