What is PRP?
In aesthetic and dermatological treatments, PRP is most commonly used for skin rejuvenation, scar reduction, wrinkle smoothing, and under-eye dark circle treatment. It enhances collagen production, improves skin tone and texture, and gives a fresher, more youthful appearance. In the cosmetic field, it is often referred to as the "vampire facial" when combined with microneedling, allowing the PRP to penetrate deeper into the skin.
In hair restoration, PRP is injected into the scalp to stimulate hair follicles, improve blood circulation, and promote natural hair growth. This treatment is especially effective for individuals experiencing early stages of hair thinning or androgenetic alopecia. It can be used as a standalone therapy or combined with other hair treatments like hair transplants to improve results and recovery.
The PRP procedure is generally quick and safe, taking about 30 to 60 minutes per session. Since it uses the patient’s own blood, the risk of allergic reaction or rejection is extremely low. Most people may experience mild redness or discomfort at the injection site, but these side effects typically resolve within a few hours to a couple of days. Results become noticeable gradually, with improvements in skin or hair condition seen over several weeks and optimal results developing after a few sessions.
