The cottage has been destroyed. There wasn't anything left. Except for a duffle bag full of stuff I managed to get ready before the impact of the lightning. I tried my best to lure and herd the animals out of the cottage, but it was too late. My shock got the best of me. I didn't flinch as the small building was burnt to a crisp right before my eyes. My eyes were glued to the ashes that laid on the ground. There were no words to describe how I felt. I couldn't even call for help. Soon enough, I was on my knees in tears. All the innocent lives of the animals were taken. At this point, there was no going back. Out of the forest I went. -- A few months passed since the incident, and my attitude hadn't improved one bit. The same depressed and tired look remained on my face. Each day it seemed to have been getting worse and worse. I'd always be cursing to myself in what seemed like a foreign language, but it sure wasn't English or German. Finally, a couple of days later I managed to pick up my mood a little. I gave out small smiles every now and again and sometimes spoke to myself in a somewhat high pitched, but at the same time, it sounded normal voice. Normally it would have to do with smiling. Small phrases such as, "Come on and smile," and what sounded like a quote from a song. Busy trying to keep my mood up on a stormy day, while quoting the small verse from the song, there was a familiar face I'd seen somewhere. It was an albino man with grey hair. I'd seen him everywhere, but never got his name. Simply shrugging it off, I kept quoting small phrases in that same voice. Each time my smile would get slightly brighter. As I walked along the sidewalk, it began to rain. The mist went through the phases to the point it was almost a downpour. While people were rushing to get to their homes, I simply remained looking down with the derpy smile that I finally managed to show. Rather quickly, I stopped inches before I nearly hit the man I have seen around. The smile was broke as I glanced up to him, then back down to the ground. "O-o-oh... s-s-s...sorry...about... th-that..." I muttered, shaking it off before trying to head my way. There was one problem-- I didn't have a place to go. Lately I just been settling around forests. Except for the one that my home used to be in.
