she's gnawed the inside of her lip raw, indecision settling under the skin as she raps her knuckles against laurel's office door. asking for anything outside of her ceo title is always a little like pointing out her flaws, tracing the cracks in her luthor armor and showing someone right where to aim.

but she trusts kara. and she trusts laurel.

she takes a long breath to steel herself before twisting the handle and stepping inside.

"----do you have a minute?" she asks, almost -- but not quite -- shutting the door behind her. "this is a... non-work related inquiry."

Kara’s voice softened immediately, concern washing over her features as she carefully tilted Laurel’s chin toward the light. Gently, she cleaned the wound with a cotton pad, her touch impossibly careful despite the strength behind her hands. "You know,” she murmured, trying for something lighter as her eyes flickered back to Laurel’s, “you really need to stop making a habit out of getting yourself nearly killed.”
