out from under him.
Round, pale blue orbs looked at the man he’d known his whole life, the one he’d disobeyed, the one he’d disappointed, with a level of fear that had never been present inside of him before. Alexander had always known his father would be furious to find out he snuck out to do ridiculously dangerous things, knew he would be furious to find out his perfectly bred son liked both males and females.
“...you’re...”
Was there cotton stuff down his throat, to make it feel as if he couldn’t swallow or breathe? There had to be, making him want to just claw at his skin to get it out, make the joke disappear.
“...y-you’re getting rid of me?”
That same stern visage he’d grown accustomed to over two decades didn’t change the slightest bit. “Whatever it is you think is going on, you need to get used to the idea of your marriage.” Disapproval everywhere, this was a man who didn’t care for the son he felt had gone too far. “In an hour I have a plane to catch, and you will be residing in the house of your fiance.”
There went his legs out beneath him, just like the rest of the world. Alexander fell to the floor with a thunk, heart beating wildly in his chest but little else going on in that body. An arranged marriage. In Russia. He was being given away as a punishment for the horrible things his father believed that he was. Alex wasn’t bad. He wasn’t horrible because he didn’t want to be a quiet, perfect son, but now it certainly felt like he was being labeled as such.
Punishment by trying to marry him to a man he believed could never love Alex, and whom Alex could never love. Show him how wrong he was by giving him that forbidden partner.
“F-father, pl-please...”
The elder’s stern visage turned harsh. “Get. Up.” A hand shot out, grabbing his son’s arm to pull him back up to stand. “You will clean up and get ready to leave.”
“Now.”
