Jasper hadn’t seen Herkimer in months, and by the time she came around again, Jasper was tending to Marie, Spark, and Lily. The three of them were growing quickly, and it was taking a lot out of Jasper just to feed them.

When she noticed Herkimer, her eyes clouded over. “...what are you doing here?”

“So you’re a Gem too, huh?”

“I don’t know if you’re anything like Lapis says... She tells me that most Gems from the homeworld are kind of cold and haughty.”

Waiting, what a horrid word to think about when one had to do such an action. The old Peridot model was done waiting around for help that would not come, and to her mind it was clear there was no gems who would want to save her. It was rather ironic that a once proud Homeworld gem would end up being a scavenger, taking away bits and pieces of once working peridots to keep on living.

The gem was trying to rest back at her old ship, staying close to what remained of her quarters till there was a reason to wake up. To her, she felt like no one would find her inside the ship and such a thought felt relaxing.

She normally didn’t think gems like Peridot were worthless, but her superiors thought differently. And when Yellow Diamond says to shatter a gem, that’s what happens. 

     ‘ BUT I can’t. I told you I can’t. This isn’t fair !! ’

;; there was no masking the teary sobs clogging her throat and bubbled out from bitten lips. peridot shook her head particularly violently, her arms being held close to her chest in a protective manner. she knew what would happen if the fake diamond tried to remove them by force. already envisioning the agony, the torn wires and rivulets of black ‘blood’ spilling out of her as of yet non-existent wounds, a strangled whimper escaped her.

     ‘ L-LOOK, I’ve agreed to go back to Homeworld, that should be enough !! Please don’t try and take them away. Please, please, please. ’
