And since Thijs wrote about that series so eloquently I’ll quote him: “To find another challenge in the shooting process, RVDA started working with an old Hasselblad Flexbody combined with his digital back which turned out to be anything but a match made in heaven. When the output was as expected it was glorious to be able to play with different kinds of depth of field, but more often than not the output was horrendous. Completely black images, images with stripes, green patches, magenta hues.. At first the struggle was to make camera stop producing these errors. Until at some point a few (only a rare few mins you) of these flawed images spoke to RVDA. A surge of joy when an image just got another, unpredictable, dimension. So now the struggle became; how to get the camera to make these flawed shots! In a world full with overproduced, over edited, over perfect images it is a joy to sometimes just ‘hope for the best’, to have an outcome you cannot steer.
