The Spencer Foundation has awarded a team of scholars at the NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development a grant for more than $940,000 to implement and evaluate The Listening Project.
The Listening Project is designed to address increasing societal divisions through semi-structured interview training with teachers and students in six middle schools across New York City. NYU Applied Psychology faculty Niobe Way, Hirokazu Yoshikawa, Alisha Ali, along with other Steinhardt faculty will lead the project.

A new course not bound by geographic location, nor the number of desks in a classroom, is ramping up for its second global offering to students this month. The Best Start in Life: Early Childhood Development for Sustainable Development is a massive open online course, or MOOC, that covers innovations in science-based early childhood development programs and policies from all over the world.
