Bending himself down onto one knee and shuffling forward with faux enthusiasm, Cole gives PSP his undivided attention.
“What’cha got there, buddy? Dead bug? Pretty cool!”
PSP isn’t actually used to experiencing people wholeheartedly interested in something he offers - That’s interesting, he thinks. It warms his heart, and a smile forms on his otherwise blank face. “Dead cicada,” he says plainly, still holding it out.
He gets the hint, though, that Cole isn’t going to take it, so he pulls his hands back, looking down at the bug in his palms. His eyes trail over all the little details.

PSP isn’t sure what to do now, and that’s probably apparent in the way he blinks at Cole. Usually, grown-ups just talk at him, not ask him about what he’s interested in,
