Madison turned from where she was stood in front of her mirror, and looked at Mason; wide eyed. She felt like her world just came crashing down. Her Mason? Marrying someone else. That… that couldn’t be. “What? Really?” She said in disbelief, watching as he gave a small nod of his head. Taking a step towards him, she leaned her head to the side and looked up at him; question ridden into her features. “Who?”
The second Kitty Wilde’s name left his tongue, she crumbled. Part of her had saw this coming, he and Kitty spent enough time together for something like that to happen. Madison just couldn’t believe she didn’t know they were in a relationship. “Oh.” She added, then let her head fall. Thoughts were whirling around, sending her into a spiral of emotions. There had to be a reason why he never told her, why he didn’t tell her before he and Kitty decided on getting married. Then there was the confusion as to what Madison and Mason were.
She could still feel the way he touched her when they were alone. Hear the things that were whispered back and forth to each other when they cuddled close, late at night. How could so much be shared, just for him to settle for some outcast. Someone who didn’t belong with them. Sure, this wasn’t something normal, something accepted, but they could have made everything work behind closed doors.
Then another thought struck her, what would happen to Kitty during Mason’s blackouts? Would she be able to handle them as Madison could? Probably not, Madison could barely do it. An even worse thought crossed Madison’s mind, Kitty falling prey to Mason during one of his blackouts. Lifting her head to look at her brother again, she shook it quickly. “You can’t marry her, Mason. I won’t allow it. You know here, with me, is where you belong. Not with her.” She said, slipping her arms around her brother’s neck and staring up at him; batting her lashes.
