#Blessed || Claude and Mike

After Halloween when Mike had walked into his house looking like absolute shit. Like, literally, his white button down had been caked in blood and...other...questionable...stains, to which he would not be using Rory’s suggestion for getting a stain out because the whole shirt had turned a rusty brown color after a day and a half of sitting, alone, psyching himself out inside a building, there was no hope for it. Luckily his hat had survived. Other than that, everything went into a garbage bag and was tossed into the bins outside.
Zombie apocalypse on Halloween, talk about his fourth worst nightmare.
Which got him thinking. If that had all been made possible then surely numbers one through three were, too. And Mike was not going to be under prepared like he was when zombies had come trampling down the street. Lucky for him he had seen every single scary movie that included them and found himself a spot to hide. To lose his mind into when his phone battery drained and he couldn’t distract himself with the Internet or Unblock Me.
So he went to get himself prepared, and when he looked over his kit he realized he was missing one essential thing. Holy Water. Now, he knew that not all demons were bad and he knew that not all bodies could be burned by Holy Water if they weren’t in the belief of Christianity, but it was still something he needed in order to check of that box and feel prepared. And he was not going to trust it to order online, he’d read one too many horror stories about it being fake and someone dying as a result.
The local Church was a little intimidating but it also carried that same feeling all Church’s did for him. Something pleasant and comforting, like a nice blanket on a cold winter night. He stepped inside, bending a little at the waist as he peaked around the corner to see if anyone was inside.
Then the door behind him closed a little too loudly making him jump and scream a little, pushing him out from his hiding spot. So what he was a little jumpy? He had just spent some odd hours listening to zombies bump against the barricaded door thinking each one would be the one to let them in. Mike blew out a relieved breath at the realization that it was just the door doing what doors do. When he turned to look back into the nave where he could see someone looking at him.
Yikes.
Mike swallowed before smiling sheepishly, then raised a hand in greeting. “Uh, hello! I’m not inturuppting anything am I? Because if you’re still talking with the big guy I can-?” He threw a thumb over his shoulder, turning to the side to indicate that he was more than capable of leaving.
