Pterocactus valentinii - A caudiciform cactus. Another cactus I got at the Missouri Botanical Gardens. I've read tha P. valentinii propagates when wind and rains break off branches and they re-root elsewhere, eventually forming their own caudex. The spines on this one come off and stick you very easily, similar to Opuntia's.
