Unfamiliar Waters | Open
With a deep breath, Maris dove into the chilly waters of Anderson Lake. She let herself sink to the bottom of the lake, enjoying the feel of water around her naked body. It had been far too long since she had felt this type of freedom.
If only her damn tail would form...
She waited for a few minutes, eyes squeezed shut as she waited for her body to magically change back to normal. After awhile, she peered through the water only to stare at the pale stems attached to her lower body. Maris wanted nothing more than to cry. It broke her heart to think she might never be a true mermaid ever again. She had tried sitting in the bath like that stupid human movie had suggested but to no avail. Maybe she had to be in salt water for it to work? She sighed, leaning back against the sand and staring up at the sky above the waves. She missed her home; she missed Mermaid Lagoon.
Feeling the annoying urge to breathe, Maris sighed through her nose causing bubbles to surround her pretty face. She clumsily kicked her way back to the surface, loathing just how ridiculously weak the human form was. Breaking through the surface, she gasped for air before allowing her body to float on top of the water. “I hate this...” She mumbled, doing her best to ignore the effect the cold water had on her body. Shivering, she glanced around the lake before noticing that someone was sitting at the dock and watching her. “A picture lasts longer!” Maris snapped.
