Octavi Serra. Project: ‘Uterus’ This intervention is a conceptual reinterpretation of the five projects that ELISAVA Barcelona School of Design presents at the Catalonia’s pavilion in the Venice Biennale. Through a critical reflection of the understanding of nature as an unlimited exploitable resource, these installations focus on interaction, respect, coexistence, and the need for building a new balanced relationship between man and nature.

Travel through time and space. Na Knížecí bus station. Catch point. Unmistakable certainty. 

To pause for a moment, hang out, meet, interact, to wait.

Until it arrives.

A record of a situation of Smíchov's bus station - a sprawl of otherwise densely developed Prague. Red pillars, ragged baskets, bottled beer from a tobacco shop. Everything how I remember it from time out of mind.

An excursion to a specific climate, atmosphere, rhythm and unwritten rules of stops and stations. To places where both random and planned generational and intergenerational encounters occur. Meeting point of teenagers and grandparents.

Conferință FABRICăm - Traian

  Conferința organizată în 16 mai 2015 a reprezentat evenimentul de inaugurare a celei de-a patra intervenții participative FABRICăm și a avut ca scop facilitarea unui dialog între administrația locală și exponenți ai mișcărilor urbanismului participativ și de descentralizare. Scopul acestui dialog este de a identifica provocările și oportunitățile unui astfel de demers urban, dar și de a crește interesul cetățenilor în legătură cu potențialul spațiilor publice și de a le atrage atenția asupra posibilităților lor de implicare ca factori activi în reconfigurarea spațiului public.

În contextul în care dimensiunile în continuă expansiune ale orașelor și complexitatea actuală a acestora fac practic imposibile reușitele unei guvernări centralizate, locuitorii sunt nevoiți să se implice în ameliorarea mediului urban în care locuiesc, de care sunt definiți și pe care învață să îl definească.

Acestă reacție comunitară vine ca răspuns la neajunsurile planificării urbane, supuse de asemenea contextului mai sus menționat, și reușește astfel să ofere soluții pentru problemele aflate la scara comunităților, folosind metode creative de exploatare a resurselor. Totuși, din pricina unor considerente administrative și legislative, inițiativele comunitare sunt adesea îngreunate sau chiar imposibile.

Conferința s-a desfășurat în cadrul festivalului StudentFest și i-a avut ca invitați pe arh. Rudolf Gräf (moderator) - vicepreședinte OAR Timiș, arh. Ciprian Cădariu - arhitect-șef Timișoara, arh. Vlad Gaivoronschi - președinte OAR Timiș, Alex Boguș - doctor in filosofie, facilitator comunitar la PATA RAT si activist social, Mihai Danciu - președinte Asociația Colonia Veselă si coordonator al unor ateliere de arhitectură socială și urbanism participativ în municipiul Petroșani și Loredana Gaiță - președinte Asociația În comunitate.

In a climate in which the appearance of dissent could result in electrocution, waterboarding, rape, or execution, Jaar took to the streets of Santiago to ask one simple yet subversive question: Are you happy?”

RULES OF SITE NO. 159/1, 2017, public intervention, signpost, pasteboard object

Kukačka (“Cuckoo”) is an Ostrava-based platform for presenting contemporary art outside a gallery environment. Inspired by the way cuckoos act as parasites on other birds’ nests, the initiative aims to intervene in the urban public space, to control that space, to use it, or simply to coexist with it. The central theme of the 7th edition of the project is defined by the motto "Rules of the Game". The Offcity Collective has got the honour to take part in the art festival and has created a public intervention and happening at the ground of a parking place in the centre of the town.

The intervention responds to the issue of rules that restrict our free movement and natural behavior in public space. An information signpost with detailed parking rules, including a detailed list of bans, enters the dialogue with the other one, which makes these rules relative. The city is our living room. But how freely can we enjoy and inhabit it? How public is the public space of Ostrava?
