Ok, I need help making this decision:

I’m fully expecting every agent I’ve submitted to so far to reject my manuscript. I’m not even bothered with trying to feel hopeful or anything because I know it’s not going to happen.

So I’m thinking of submitting directly to publishers. I’ve heard mixed information regarding submitting to publishers. Some people have said that agents reject all direct submissions, some have said that it’s easier than working with an agent, and some have said that there is no difference, and that submitting to a publisher and submitting to an agent are just as difficult.

So I’m thinking I might as well submit to publishers, too. There’s mixed signals and I’m not sure whether it would make things easier or harder for me, but I’m definitely going down that road once I get all my rejections back.

The thing is, I don’t know if I should submit soon, or wait until I finish my degree so that I can add that to my bio. It would look more impressive to say, “Colm Smyth is a writer and blogger with a degree in English with Creative Writing from Queen’s University Belfast.”

So should I wait until I get my degree before submitting to publishers?
