puddincakes answered: I have never taken lessons from anything but maybe take one lesson from each. I would think if you’re serious you should go with the second choice, you want to push yourself not be lazy.

I think you’re right, the second option seems like a less lazy/lax route, and she has experience with the company I want to work for as well. Although her experience is intimidating, she would probably be better in the long run. Thanks for the input!

(1/3)I used to have about 8 hermit crabs when I was little but they kept getting mites and would crawl out of their shells, I cleaned them and changed their rocks but to no avail. My longest living hermit crab was 2 years, but they should live to

about 10? Or longer? Back then I just had a 50 gallon tank, rocks and climbing/ hiding toys, and shells of course. But none of my other crabs came close to two years. I now know they need a humidifier, since its been almost 8 years since my last attempt, I think I'm ready to care for more. What is a site or list of things to care for happy and healthy hermit crabs? Thank you so much :) I love your blog

I’m afraid I can already tell what likely killed your crabs. Dehydration! Gravel or stones do not hold humidity and also do not allow a crab to burrow (which is essential). Sand, coco coir, or a mix of the two are the only suitable substrate choices for hermit crabs.
