It’s been a while...

Lucy has gotten huge

And I just went to an expo this weekend. The original plan was to bring home a milksnake and a hognose. But then I had to adjust the plan for financial reasons. So I only brought home this gorgeous little honduranXpueblan milksnake.

Her name is Hannibal or “Hanna”. She smol 😍

A desert dawning saturated by spring inversion, sounds muted, zephyrs quieting their conversations out of simple respect. Ionized particles of condensate trace the PreCambrian memories of somnambulant buttes; themselves remnants of islands and the shores of those islands, once singular destinations hovering above the waterline of a vast inland sea. There is a phasing, here, a grand nexus of epoch and era, where a body becomes translucent and minimal, a trifled carbon consideration among the dunes of iron and glass. 3000 years of names and tradition have come and gone, pueblan ancestry giving way to the pavement and plight of the modern era; petrographs of handprints, the voices of those hoping for permanent memory. As the morning breaks, accompanying thermals give rise to a new atmosphere and the body, now barely an abstract, evaporates as a willing participant in the grandest of nature's cycles. One hopes the phantom image carried aloft will be worthy of drinking when the storms of summer arrive.
