At last, the pulled work is done! And now, the hemming…

Would you believe that the two 'leaf' sections in the centre section of the design both use the exact same stitch but because the warp and weft of the fabric are slightly different it makes them look almost like two different stitches.

Another main section of pulled work done, I’m really happy with this one! I’m planning to do a slightly larger version of the honeycomb darning on the ‘leaves’ in this section and I’ve already filled in the small berries with a smaller version of the four sided stitch I used in the fruit on the lower areas of the design.

Am I staying up to watch the election results or am I staying up to work on my fichu? I'm almost done with the pulled work on the second part of the design and I'm on a roll!

Finally got round to the next part of the design. This is the one filling I managed to do based entirely on the instructions in the RSN Whitework book, it's called honeycomb darning. I started off where I could get a good row of stitches in so I have a tiny section to fill in along the bottom but other than that this whole branch is done!

I’ve done three sections of pulled work so far. I was really struggling to follow the instructions in the book I was using, so I abandoned them in favour of just experimenting on some scrap muslin. Once I get a pattern I like I do it in one of the sections on the fichu. I like some degree of symmetry so I will probably do the same patterns in the branch opposite the one I’ve done. They’re not exact mirror images but close enough that I think it will look better if they have the same filling patterns.
