Samuel!Persephone is truly fascinating, bc he’s just trying to do his job right and keep everyone happy but Margaret is taking him back sooner and sooner and it’s not enough time

I said it in the reblog to my last ask but POLARIS MOTIF FOR ROSE AND JOHN DURING PROMISES AND DOUBT COMES IN! They swear to walk with each other and trust one another and let them guide each other but then John has to follow Rose but Rose has nothing to guide her as she leaves the underworld and that’s where doubt comes in.

i lovvvve using "you know where to find me" as something bitter. of course she's bitter, sam is kinda all she has in this au? when samuel leaves, he has his sister to visit. when samuel leaves, margaret is alone. dakkar likely doesn't visit often. he's her only company and he leaves for half of the year! half of the year, she's alone!

i also adore samuel turning it back on her.

Polaris motif..........

if mags is the queen of the fog (instead of the mines, idk), maybe the winter she causes blocks out the stars? the skies fill with smoke, and you can't see the stars, barely even Polaris. maybe rose's song brings that back. idk

rose and john actually meet when she hits him in the head with her printing press plate... orpheus and eurydice run into each other, rose is carrying around a full sheet of metal for some reason, and john is the unlucky bastard who gets hit

for the fates, i am drawing a bit of a blank. definitely benjamin, though, for one of them (causes doubt in samuel for margaret, just as he ruined her faith in him in canon). other than that... i don't have much 😭

hades!margaret is so fun, honestly. she's so cunning, she's so different from canon margaret, and that's so much fun for me. i like her dynamic with john here! they have a sweet friendship in canon, but here, it's like he's just a pawn for her. it's great.

QUESTIONS??? okay yeah that's great. tempting john in because she knows about his desire for knowledge (maybe samuel mentioned that?), and using that as a way to manipulate him onto her side. hades!margaret you are despicable i love you

Thinking of a neat Pulptown costume design thing (would draw it but my sharpener broke)

Beneath their fog/bricks and money and flower motifs on their outfits, Margaret and Samuel have small, easily concealable sun and moon motifs- maybe on their buttons, full moons like silver coins for Margaret and sunbursts that almost look like flowers for Samuel.

But in Epic 3 “They Danced” We have our attention drawn to a silver crescent tie pin that Samuel wears and a small golden brooch in the shape of a sun that Margaret has

i love the idea that their motifs are still there, under it. they've managed to disguise them, but underneath it, it's still them. yeah. i think this is a really good idea

Also also I vote Sia as Hermes, not Dakkar bc I feel like it would be funnier to extend the olympian family even though they aren’t depicted in Hadestown and have him as Poseidon with Itzal as Kronos (but that’s me being a massive mythology nerd lol)
