Laced high heeled boots stepped across the stone slabs of the yard. “Ella!?” The red-haired woman said, trying to keep her voice grand though it was raised. It echoed around the space, bouncing back to her off the solid stone walls. “Where is that girl?” She muttered impatiently to herself. The woman walked through a line of drying sheets, pushing the cloths out of the way. She looked more than a little out of place in this country environment, wearing her large elegant dress of plum. Her heels were certainly not made for walking on this uneven surface, and the woman cursed under her breath when she almost twisted her ankle.
