No Time for Cameras :: Sephyr & Bronwyn
The sun had long set on the rainbow-littered landscape of the festival-grounds. Multi-colored Christmas lights were strung throughout trees and dollar-store Chinese lanterns aided them in giving the intoxicated youth some way to stumble their way past the greasy stands full of even greasier food. People didn’t follow the same strict schedule that the sun did. The sun fell and the zombies rose, shuffling their way towards the many stages carefully erected in the park.
One particular stage had enough lights to potentially be seen from space. No one was on the stage although it looked to be set up for a rock band. Festival-goers crowded around it and waited, bumping into each other, checking their phones, taking one more dance with Alice before the last song. Bronwyn found herself happily in the middle of the crowd. She grinned with green-tinted lips and surveyed the crowd with her blue-painted eyes. She had decided to go on her own trip and had hit up an old friend a few hits of LSD. She felt light and airy and a stupid grin never left her face. The world seemed brighter, prettier, and calmer. The eyes of the crowd appeared to glow and the lanterns and LEDs became big warm balls of happiness in her eyes.
“Oh, shit, Sephyr!” She yelled out to a thin blond man on the outer edge of the crowd. As the acid kicked in her manners were kicked out and she carelessly shoved people (albeit lightly) out of the way. Once she reached the man she pounced him into a hug and kissed him on the cheek. “Oh my god, you hate that.” She chuckled and it quickly turned into laughter. “I’m so sorry, I am-“ She whistled and motioned upwards as if to say ‘high as fuck.’ “You should’ve told me you’d be here. Coulda…coulda sent a carrier pigeon.” She grinned, and bit her lip.
