Bronwyn burst quickly and roughly into the familiar bathroom of the basement club. The bass playing from outside of the bathroom doors was muffled but loud enough still to make the walls and stall doors shake. They rocked back and forth, reminding the lady of couples she had just seen dancing together. A dragon roared in her stomach, stealing her attention away from the unseen couples and back to the reason she had come into the musty, old bathroom. A tiny bag felt like a ten pound weight in her pocket. It wasn't guilt that gave the contained syringe a few extra pounds but excitement. She hadn't been on a binge in too long, she hadn't had fun in too long. Things had been too serious what with hostile bosses showing up uninvited at her house and police getting far too fresh for her liking. She needed to relax, she needed her fix.
Legs moved like jello towards an open stall (or she hoped it was, the other stall was missing a door but not a patron) and the beast in her stomach threatened to make it's way outside of her body if she didn't right herself soon. Her stomach was too empty and yet too full of alcohol. The heroin would set her right, it would set her more than right. She'd probably want to go home but she'd make sure to find someone to take home first. She never wasted a high and tried to always do something. But never mind that, that was for the future and she was in the now. She sat on the regrettably cold porcelain toilet seat, her muscles clenched and she grit her teeth. "Fuck!" The curse slipped from her mouth like a gasp. She laughed and rubbed the cold out of her legs and took a deep breath, letting it out slowly.
Her ankle would be the 'victim' this time. It was her favorite place to poke. It hurt like hell but the ride was always worth every moment of the pain, plus, her horse was always good quality and that helped smooth things out. She propped her left foot on her right knee and placed her fingers on the ankle after kissing them. She smiled, the moment just before was always so sweet. The anticipation, the excitement, her heart beat faster and faster and she bit her lip until it hurt. Careful not to poke her fingers she grabbed the bag out of her pocket and freed the pre-prepared syringe from its prison. She was ever so thankful for good friends who had good shit and the decency to save her the time of prepping it herself. A warning popped up in her head, she shouldn't trust this, what if it's too much, or something else? But she did trust it, she trusted her friend. A tourniquet taken during a hospital visit the morning before came in handy and out of the same pocket. She wrapped it tight around her ankle and watched a light green vein get bigger and bigger and then it was time. Deep breath in, deep breath out. Fingers on the syringe, thumb on the plunger, aim, deep breath, poke, pain, push, breathe out.
Done.
