Hi, my short story is about my punching gloves and a DIY punching bag out of car tires. There are some vids on YouTube showing how to make the bag but mostly skip important issues that can get critical for you. First of all I think that one shouldn’t get runflat tires as they are hard as a rock. Give yourself a try at a local car service and you’ll understand what am I talking about. I’ve read this tip somewhere on a forum and I’m very grateful to the guy that wrote it. As well I was a bit confused that usual tires would absorb a big amount of the hit, the tire caves in as hit it hard. Well mostly I’m okay with it , in the end I am sure it’s better for your health than constantly hitting a rock. Also you need to aim to avoid hitting the joint of two tires because as I think there’s a risk injuring your hand. Once my hand got a slight stuck between two tires )) . That gave me understanding that you need to connect tires between each other with 4 - 5 bolts on every level vs 3 as I did. Also I was very disappointed that my left glove was very damaged by the bag. You can see on the photo that it got quite worn out and it happened for 4 sessions (30mins each). I think that it’s partially my fault because of wrong jab technique, I suppose that my hand goes down slightly right after the handAndBag collision that creates friction. But if I do nothing before I learn how to do it the right way I will be having a hole in the glove and it will cost me additional money and the DIY bag will not be a good idea after this anymore. So I’ve decided to wrap a thick plastic bag around the bag and glue it with a glue gun. Thus I hope to reduce most of the friction. If it won’t help I will wrap it with some synthetic soft fabric that is sold in most malls black color probably … Or pink ;D In the end I must say that having a tire bag is mostly great that you don’t have to take it off and place it back each training session so that u save it from rain (if we are talking about outdoor). My previous bag was a small classic bag with sawdust inside and it became saggy it it’s upper part where most of the hits are aimed. That’s no good at all. It was the biggest reason why I replaced it to a tire one. Well I think it’s all for today if the plastic bag wrapping will not work - I’ll make an update to this post. Have a great day ! Deuces!
