These weren't the most optimal conditions to go out and lurk around school grounds after-hours. The moon's waxing phase gave off plenty of light, so even with the security booth's dimmed bulbs, Eriks' not-so-stealthy movements nearby are easy to make out.
In fact, it's Wolfwood to get the jump on him, a blind-spot angled tap on the shoulder landing right on the mark. Eriks flinches, jumping straight-up in place, before his right hand folds over the spot of his heart.
