[Went ahead & cut the lettering by hand, then double the sizing because they were too tiny💀and the stencil got ripped apart lol.] But, nearly done. I didn't want to procrastinate on this. I've just gotta add some glitter, and it'll be ready for the upcoming concert~♡ I'm headed to see Sevendust with my bf🥰🖤
Made the orb way bigger cuz I really wanted to sEE it, it's my favorite part.

some patches i made (left) + got on etsy (right)
I LOVE the clothes you make, do you have any advice for someone just starting to get into DIY?
Thank you so much!!!!!!!! I think the best thing to do is figure out the general structure of how clothes are made? if you have a seam ripper, you should try to take apart shirts and skirts(pretty easy things to alter) to see the way the patterns line up. I don't think you can really alter something if you don't know how it works to begin with. I mostly make patches and prints because I like to paint so I'd really suggest making your own stencils but if you can't do that, most children's art crafts have them. Don't buy from target but this is a pretty good example of what I'm talking about: Target Stencil Set
My next advice is go to thrift stores and buy mens pants or dresses, anything with a lot of fabric. I know some people like tablecloths or bed sheets but I find they tend to be either cheap quality or have some sort of print. I like to use this for patches or scrap fabric though sometimes I actually just use them as a base. My pair of patch pants is actually an old mens jeans which I'm fairly positive I stole from my older brother.
Speaking of stealing-while I don't condone it-I think it's not bad advice to try and take stuff from family members. In general just don't throw anything away that you might like. I'd keep an eye out for cool fabrics, textures, prints, that sort of thing. A good rule of thumb is to have a box of fabric scraps you go through every ~3 months to see what you actually want to keep. What I do instead of that very reasonable advice is have 3 boxes of fabric that I do not touch and instead just keep taking clothes from my family members and friends.
Last piece of advice is just go into projects knowing what you want? I don't think theres anything wrong with improvising along the way, I do that to fill up space, but don't just start throwing random stuff on your battle jacket one at a time. Make maybe 5 patches to start and attach them, just to have a jumping off point?

Wanna put like a patch or something on the front. Any suggestions? :333
