Lately in comedy I have been having complex feelings around acts I have been “right”about. Comedians I featured in my content and supported in their career who no longer need day jobs. I am fundamentally thrilled for them and like that they remember how I cared when few others did. That’s not the issue, it's how can I take this knowing I can see raw talent and use it to level up my own career. Get rid of my own day Job. Until I do it’s just nice to be right. I have a new sympathy for people who say about bands “I liked their first album.” @bonezpoley is a comic I am very excited about her potential as a comedian. She is self actualized, meticulous and at the same time completely under the effects of her own human condition. All the ingredients to be a force in contemporary merger of punk comedy. Like Sam Tallent and or Stanhope She used to front a band and run a house venue. What has carried over from this is her ability to really connect with her audience. No one is doing what she is doing. People don’t know her name in the scene everywhere yet. I do know that most of Comedy Bar main space was packed and the show was recorded by @tyshazma Fun show great shots, a good time was had by all. Let’s see where this goes. . . . . . . #bonezpoley #standupcomedy #femalestandup #punkcomedy #torontocomedy #womenincomedy #canadiancomedy #onestowatch #artsandculture #modernhumour #nikond3400 #youngemodernlaughs https://www.instagram.com/p/Ch1BNeiNuOL/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
