I AM SO BUSY I AM HARDLY EVER ON AHHH I'm sorry I'm just seeing the 24 stuff now and frankly I am confused and also a little bit pissed that they would do the franchise without Jack. UNLESS it was about someone like Chloe or Tony who is actually integral to the story. Kate was cool and all but she doesn't count?? Urgghhhhurgghhhh I don't want them to ruin a good thing, this genuinely worries me. I really hope they don't overdo it

I can respect them trying to do the series without Jack purely because Kiefer isn’t interested in continuing the Jack story line right now (which makes sense). So I’m willing to sit back and see what they come up with. Like I said in a previous post about this, we need to see what they do first - they haven’t even produced a draft for the network yet. It’s just a matter of waiting & seeing where they go with it. I’ll be obligated to watch whatever they produce. I have spent so many years watching & worshipping the show, you know? I feel like they have an opportunity here to go forward with something else & give us something worthwhile that would make us happy in all the right ways. Which, of course, is my concern. Usually when networks/etc have this kind of opportunity, they royally fuck it up :/

Admittedly, it's very likely I would at least try to watch it, even with no recurring characters. But like you said, maybe there's time for them to come up with something better than what it currently sounds like!

Yeah. I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt FOR NOW. I guess they’ve been, based on that article, planning to try and go a Bauer-less route since January of this year while working on this. And I respect Kiefer’s decision to not be Bauer right now (he’s been Bauer for how long now, haha). 

Only time will tell.

Ehhhhhhhhhhhhh I'm definitely on team "what's the point without Jack?"/ How the hell will they pull this off with no recurring characters at all? I just don't think they can get fan investment without Jack. I was sort of hopeful that they would spinoff a webisode series with Tony and tbh would prefer that over anything like this :/

I would definitely like to see them bring back Tony! A webipsode type deal sounds like it would be a better idea, easier to get through, you know? I’m just sort of... I don’t know. I guess I have to see what they come up with first. I just don’t see how they can do it with NO recurring characters like you said. But like I also said to someone else, I’ll have to wait and see what happens because Fox has yet to receive a script. So there’s time for them to work this out.

see, i understand the desire to reboot the series. and i'm respecting the fact kiefer doesn't want to return as jack bauer right now, i get that. he's been jack bauer for SO MANY years, so it makes sense that he would want to step back, you know? but as for resetting the entire series so they can bring in a whole new cast? i mean, i'm not gonna say too much & judge too much right now because there isn't even a script for Fox to look at just yet.

i just have such mixed feelings over this. i had SUPER mixed feelings when the mini series happened and ended (i understand & respect audrey's death, but idk, i am still conflicted to be honest).

if they are going to reboot & reset, then i hope they at least HONOUR the precious characters, you feel? because a lot of shows will just ignore & erase the history of previous characters. i want them to leave opportunity for guest appearances from previous characters, you feel? lol.
