If I may ask... at the end of Sundown, I was questioning whether or not they were just gonna cuddle or if the woofy one's escalating danger fantasies were gonna have the story end in tragedy. So um. ARE THEY OKAY THE NEXT DAY YOU CAN SPOILER ME IT'S FINE /*shot*
Hi there, thanks for reading Sundown! If you don’t want spoilers of the story, don’t read further!Sundown is a very personal story that is directly inspired by the team’s personal experiences as wlw youth and is most definitely not intended to be taken literally. None of the “werewolf” character’s deepest fears that were shown in the comic have actually happened nor will happen in the future and the dark “fantasy” page is purely the character’s imagination and doesn’t actually take place in reality. So rest assured, everyone will be absolutely fine in the morning!
The idea behind that particular scene is that it’s supposed to represent the heightened anxiety and uneasiness lesbians feel when performing sexual acts for the first time with a same gender partner due to internalized homophobia, misinformation on safe lesbian sex and othering negative stereotyping in the media, causing us to often feel predatory and “monstrous” when realizing our sexual attraction towards a female partner. This is especially true for trans lesbians as well. The transition from lonely fantasies to real life sex can be scary, and we tried to show that overcoming those fears is possible with an understanding partner who is willing to accept you as you are - metaphorical tail and snout included!
