Afrodelia - Punta Diamante - Afro-Latin jams from Mexico City (Sonorama Discos)
Punta Diamante was founded by Antonio Cano and Alberto Torres in Mexico City in 2010; from that moment, the project's gestation process involved the participation of multiple musicians until 2018, when they consolidated the current line-up from other local bands and ensembles such as Maguila (Elias Ramirez, Emiliano Mendoza, Emiliano Ramirez) Son De La Calle (Vladimir Tovar), Los Hijos De Chunga (Vladimir Aranda, Emiliano Mendoza), Nabuzenku (Rodrigo De Leo), Ensamble Pullock (Santiago Juarez) and Turbochango (David Contreras). The band's first studio LP AFRODELIA refers to the concept they chose to describe their music: a mixture of various musical roots such as Afrobeat, Funk, Free Jazz, Afrocaribbean Rythms and Psychedelic Rock. Punta Diamante is a ritual of sound in which time and space fuse to create a mystic atmosphere for the audience.
