“Tell me, Brody,” Anti sneered as he inched closer towards him. “Is there anything you wish to do before I end you today?”
Chase’s body was littered in bruises and cuts given by Anti. He’s been held up in this... this place. He doesn’t know where he was. He doesn’t know where he is. One moment he was home with his dog and editing a video for the channel and the next he was tied to a wooden chair and looking at a pair of glowing green eyes. From that moment on, days and nights mixed together as Anti put him through hard, painful tasks and tests, using him like a plaything. When he was done with him, Chase couldn’t stand for at least three days, but that didn’t mater; he would come back within the next hour to do it over again, hurting him far worse than the last.
Everyday, he felt himself getting slipping faster as his strength faded under him. His eyes could hardly stay open to look at the demon when he would pour hot wax on his neck and hands. Anti would hold him up to see his eyes when he would cut him here and there. All of it would... it would drain him until he could no longer stay awake, stay alive. Lately, it’s been harder to speak or cry from all of the hurt and harm he’s caused.
Then Anti changed.
He would come in for the next couple of days and sit next to Chase as he healed him with his magic. Sometimes, he would come into the night and lay Chase’s head on his chest or lap, combing his hair lightly with his fingers, talking softly about his fears and opening up about certain things about his life like why he’s a demon and why he does this.
“It’s to make you’re strong,” he said as his answer one night. “I want everyone to be strong.” Chase remembered his green eyes dimming and changed to mixed eyes. His right eyes was a soft brown and his left eye was a faded jean blue. “I thought you would be the strongest for all of the things you’ve been through, Brody, but I was wrong.”
Then, today, after Chase could hardly move nor stand up by himself, he saw his familiar knife in his hand. In the back of his mind, it felt right to put a dying, struggling animal down like this. He disappointed Anti’s high expectations, what’s new? When he asked that question, Chase felt a sigh leave his lips.
He felt Anti lift his limp body into his arms as Chase’s hand clinched to his shirt, wheezing slightly. “Chase? Can you hear me?” Chase swallowed hard as his shallow eyes tried to focus on his voice. He licked his lips and parted them partly, but no noise came out. “I’m a fair main. I’ll give you any wish that you desire. Your family. Jack--anything that you want before--”
“Kiss... me?” Chase’s voice was hardly audible. He would love to see his family, but not like this. Let them think he died somewhere else. And Jack? Anti would only make him his puppet again when he dies. This felt right to him. Just protecting his family like this is better. “Kiss me.”
Anti lifted his brow at the request. It’s an odd one for sure, but he was a fair man for a last wish, and he didn’t expect this to be it. “Are you sure, Brody?“
There was a slight nod as his eyes glimmered in death.
“Very well,” Anti answered solemnly. “As you wish.”
His arm tucked under his lower back and lifted him gently to his lips. Chase’s body crumbled and fell apart under his touch as he felt how soft and cold Anti’s lips were. They were perfect and smooth, making up for the faded scars that covered his body. He could feel Anti’s eyes on his as he felt tears roll from his cheek. Chase used his lat bit of strength to cling onto his shirt and kissed him longer and deeper. Soon, Anti’s eyes closed as he kissed back, and his hand brushed through his hair once more. Chase didn’t make a noise as their kissed deepened and turned passionate for more, but the bitter end was coming; he could feel the cold blade next to his chest. He was ready to die, he was, but he wanted this for now. Just a little bit long.
His last wish, the bitter end to both Chase and Anti.
Chase lurched forward as the knife drove into his chest, but he didn’t move his lips from Anti, not daring to move away from the morose touch. He wanted this for a bit long, one more moment before he could sleep.
Sleep now, my lovely. For you did well to me. You passed the test. Now, it’s to sleep you go, my lovely...
Anti held Chase’s head up as he pulled away when Chase went limp in his arms, his warm, shallow breath leaving in a sigh from his lips. Anti looked at him thoughtfully and didn’t let him go yet. He held him close to his chest and looked at the wooded door where he would come in then at Chase again.
“You did well, Anti,” the darken voice sang from the darkness. “He was too weak to keep.”
Anti didn’t look up at the voice from the door. He shut his eyes and held Chase closer to his chest as his warm blood covered his shirt and arms. He placed his lips in his hair and shut his eyes in thought.
“Come now, Anti,” Jack said as he knelt next to him. “Every story needs a villain, and you played the perfect part. He believed you--”
“Shut up.”
“--and you did it so well,” Jack didn’t stop talking as he tried to take Chase, but Anti bared his teeth at him, growling lowly. “And I see that you grew attached.”
“Don’t touch him,” he warned through his teeth. “Don’t you dare.” He held his dead body closer to his chest as his arms shielded him. “Don’t.”
A smirk grew slowly as Jack’s eyes darken. “I’ll give you one last wish then, Anti. Besides,” his knife that Anti used on Chase glimmered in the door light, “I am a fair man.”
